Safe For Use With Most Metals
Compatible With Existing Deflux Equipment
Low Foam Quickly Supressed
Non-Hazardous and Non-Flammable
No Hazardous Air Pollutants
Performs At Low Temperature
D-Flux 6201™ is a non-hazardous flux remover that offers premier performance without compromising the safety of the workplace. It is designed as drop in replacement for conventional cleaning agents that are often used in combination to remove flux and can require multiple stages for effective removal. It also serves as safer alternative to conventional cleaners that have hazardous properties and raise health and environmental concerns.
Dissolves Flux Residue
What makes D-Flux 6201 so effective in removing flux is that it dissolves flux residue. D-Flux is compatible with a wide range of flux removal equipment and techniques and will not compromise precious metals used in the fabrication of printed circuit boards and electronic components. It can be used in immersion tanks as well as with ultrasonic equipment, batch spray and in-line spray systems.
When used in an immersion tank, 6201dissolves flux without the need for heating to high temperatures. Most residues are removed by heating the solution to temperatures less than 140°F/60°C. Both mechanical agitation of the D-Flux 6201 solution or injection through jet spray nozzles in the immersion tank facilitates the removal of residue.
D-Flux 6201 can be used full strength or diluted with deionized water in a 1:1 ratio for economical use. Following the wash stage is a rinse stage using heated deionized water. For quickly drying rinsed printed circuit boards either air blowoff or warm circulating air can be employed.
Remove Wide Range of Soils and Residues
D-Flux 6201 removes a wide range of soils including:
• No clean (NC) flux that consists of rosin and a small amount of activator. Residue is clear, non-corrosive and non-conductive.
• Water soluable (WS) flux that consists of organic acids, thixotrope and solvent. WS residue is corrosive and has to be removed soon after reflow.
• Rosin mildly activated (RMA) flux that consists of rosin, solvent and a small amount of activator. RMA flux residue is clear, soft, non-corrosive and non-conductive.
• Rosin Activated (RA) flux that consists of rosin solvent and strong activator. RA residue is corrosive and has to be removed soon after reflow.
• Sticky flux.
• Oils and greases.
Neutral pH
Non-alkaline and non-acidic, D-Flux 6201 features a neutral pH so it is suitable for use with all ferrous and non-ferrous metals; including aluminum, tin, beryllium, carbon, steel, titanium as well as copper, gold, palladium and silver.
Minimal VOCs
High performance solvent cleaners are based on petroleum distillates and halogenated solvents that contain a high level of volatile organic compounds (VOCs). D-Flux 6201 contains less than 50 grams/liter of VOC. VOCs are known to release air pollutants and contribute to global warming.
Non-Hazardous
D-Flux 6201 is biodegradable, non-toxic, non-flammable, non-corrosive and non-reactive. It has a flash point of zero and a boiling point of over 212°F/100°C and presents no hazardous air pollution potential or ozone depletion.
